Savage Model 10 Precision Carbine Centerfire Rifle
The Model 10 Precision Carbine is part of Savage's Law-Enforcement Series, a group of rifles designed for flawless operation when lives are on the line. The Precision Carbine starts with a threaded, carbon steel barrel that's paired with the proprietary Savage AccuStock. The AccuStock contains a rigid rail system that creates a perfect union between the action and the stock, making it impervious to heat, torque, and humidity. In addition, the rifle is fitted with the crisp, adjustable Savage AccuTrigger and a detachable box magazine. The metalwork is finished in matte black and the stock has a matte digital camo finish.

Colt Pocket 9 Handgun
Made for only a short time by Colt, the Pocket 9 is one of the most compact, lightweight 9mm handguns you can buy. As the name suggests, the Pocket 9 is designed to be carried in a shooter’s pocket and, with its 3” barrel and short grip frame, you can do just that. It’s no suprise that the Pocket 9 is also light, weighing in at just over a pound, but the construction is solid and the materials are strong. Every pocket 9 has a stainless steel slide and and an anodized steel frame. The rubber grip is stippled for traction and the hammer is bobbed to prevent snags.
Sako Finnwolf Sako Collectors Association Ed. Centerfire Rifle
Sako rifles are known for their crisp triggers, well-fitted parts, and honest minute-of-angle accuracy. Produced for only a short time, the Finnwolf was Sako’s entry into the world of the classic lever gun. The Finnwolf bears an external resemblance to the Winchester 88, but is built much differently on the inside. Much like Sako’s bolt-action rifles, they’re known to be extremely accurate right out of the box. This rifle is #89 of only 175 made in .308 for the Sako Collector’s Association. The rifle features a finely checkered walnut stock with a raised cheekpiece, a hooded blade front sight, and Sako scope bases and comes with the original factory box.
Savage Model 12 Long Range Precision Centerfire Rifle
From the accuracy experts at Savage comes the Model 12 Long Range Precision, a rifle designed to fire some of the fastest and most dependable high-powered rounds. The Long Range Precision gets the latter part of its name from the H-S Precision fiberglass stock that forms its base. The barrel and action are finished with non-glare matte bluing and the box magazine is detachable for easy loading and unloading. Savage's proprietary target AccuTrigger breaks cleanly and crisply and can be adjusted at home without a gunsmith.
Israel Weapons Industry Tavor SAR FD16 Flattop Centerfire Rifle
The Tavor SAR is the semi-automatic variant of the bullpup-style Tavor TAR-21, carried by the Israeli Infantry and Special Forces for over a decade. The Tavor Flattop incorporates a full-length MIL-STD Picatinny top rail in addition to the standard short rail mounted at a 45° angle opposite the charging handle. The ambidextrous bullpup configuration allows for short rifle convenience with long rifle accuracy and is ergonomically shaped for ultimate shooting comfort. In addition to the top rail, the B16 Flattop features built-in flip-up battle sights with a tritium insert blade up front and an aperture sight in the rear. Both the stock and magazine are made of durable polymer for weight reduction without strength compromise. The detachable, cold hammer-forged barrel is chrome-lined with a 1 in 7" twist.

Process: These product descriptions have been my main writing duty at Gander Mountain. The goal is to sell the product by making it sound appealing, but also to properly inform the customer about its features. The text needs to appeal to both hardcore gun enthusiasts and casual shoppers who may be buying their first gun. Our house style is to start with a broad sales pitch for the gun and then transition into its features, using an inverted pyramid scheme where the most important, unique features come first. At times, the bulk of the copy comes directly from the manufacturer and needs only minor editing. The items laid out here, however, did not have detailed copy available, so I created the text description using only basic specs. The final item includes a link to the manufacturer's website to illustrate my process when adapting from another source.
